About
The REFORM Project (2020-2023)
REFORM – Retelling the European Future – Opportunity for Rural Municipalities to decrease the impact of Euroscepticism at local level
The project will bring together 28 rural municipalities from all parts of the European Union sharing the same concerns about the rise of Euroscepticism among inhabitants at both institutional and civic levels. Therefore, the REFORM is our answer to that problem. The title speaks for itself, reforms (“reform may be no more than fine tuning, or at most redressing serious wrongs without altering the fundamentals of the system”) are needed to remain united and build a strong and improved EU for the future.
The project aims are to decrease the level of Euroscepticism at the local level, strengthen democratic engagement, encourage volunteering, and help in building the future European society.
Within the 2 years the participants will gain knowledge on the EU institutions and benefits, common values, history and different cultures, but they will also learn from each other and help one another understand and tackle Euroscepticism.
The project will be carried out as a University believing that only education can aid in making changes/reforms in the world.
We will organise Seminars (The Netherlands,Hungary and Latvia) with one third of the partners involved, where the participants will challenge the problems Europe is facing at the moment, and Summer Academies (Croatia, Spain) and Closing Conference (Romania) with all the partners involved, where participants will have the opportunity to share experience and good practice about the main topics.
PROJECT INITIATORS AND COORDINATORS
The REFORM Project (2020-2023) project is a result of a Croatian and Hungarian cooperation, conceived and written by the Charter of European Rural Communities application team members, Mr. Karlo Klarin (Tisno, Croatia) and Ms. Zsuzsanna Lukács (Nagycenk, Hungary). Both authors will also take part in the implementation of the project as coordinators securing the satisfying level of execution.
Mr. Marko Jovic (Tisno, Croatia) was actively involved as the English editor during the process of project writing.
The project meetings will be coordinated in close co-operation with the Majors of the host municipalities, the local associations, and the project initiators/co-ordinators. The whole team will take part in the meetings and monitor the execution of the project, securing the transparency and visibility of the project realisation.
