Event Nr. 6 Summer Academy and closing conference in Romania

Participants: 4 from 27 Partners + 50 local participants

Specific topic: Promotion of advantages of the EU membership as the only way for them being recognized by Eurosceptics.

Project activities:

1. Presentation – The project co-ordinators will present the REFORM project
2. Debate – What has the EU ever done for you? The debate is an opportunity for the participants to get together in an informal setting to examine, discuss and debate on the specific topic.
3. Workshop – RESTART- Can we be firm when our basis is shaken? Requestioning the relevance of the European values.
4. Participants will take part in a workshop discussing about European values emphasizing the importance of intercultural dialogue and civic participation.”
5. Group Discussion – Group discussion allows the participants to exchange their views and opinions, ideas in face to face situation on the topic: Is the idea of the EU still a fiction, or a tangible entity?
6. Quescussion – Is the future of the EU close to what we have now? Quescussion is an unusual activity where participants involved can discuss only by making another question about the topic. At the end all questions are summarized, and facilitator extracts the answers from the question.
7. Lecture – Grab the opportunities! Rural municipalities & the EU projects? A lecture held by a professional in this specific topic.
8. Role play -The participants will be divided into several groups representing European project beneficiary vs. non beneficiary point of view and expressing their opinion about appropriateness of European fundings for regular citizens.
9. Brainstorming – The participants will be encouraged to create a worse scenario for the EU referring the main topic of the meeting.
10. Presentation – Presentation of the results of REFORM project – Comic book launch with a press conference. During the 2 years long project period participants will face different issues in the EU, and join forces to offer solutions that will ultimately be used to write a comic book whose heroine named Rury will present them in an amusing and approachable way.
11. Storytelling – DON’T REPEAT, RETELL! (Living under Causescu regime). An expert will take the role of a Storyteller and share some stories from that period regarding the local area with the participants. Stories will include their personal point of view without interference of the participants. After it will be organised a short discussion about the impact of the story on the participants. “
12. Game show Replay! – The game show played interactively during the meeting. The participants will be playing it on line whenever they have time. They will have to collaborate closely with participants from other countries in order to gain the right answers
13. Creative session- Colorful Europe – a big mosaic of diversities – Photo exhibition – Mosaic wall. By using photos taken in the two years long project period larger picture mosaic will be created and presented during this meeting.
14. Local event – Taste the difference, make a difference! – Participants will experience traditional way of life in Targu Mures region by taking part in series of activities (folklore dancing, hiking in the mountains, etc)
15. Volunteering action – Participants will take part in a voluntary action organised by the locals. By taking part in this activity the participants will be encouraged to become active citizens and motivated to show respect and give back to the local society.”
16. Presentation – A presentation about the results of the surveys made during the two years long project period.
